Title: Hailey Twitch is Not a Snitch
Author: Lauren Barnhold
Format: Kindle ebook
Page Count: 160 pages
Grade Reading Level: Ages 9-12

Summary: Hailey Twitch is a cute little girl who can't seem to stay out of trouble. She is good-hearted -- and manages to get into some sort of trouble every time she turns around. It doesn't help when Maybelle, a 200 year old sprite, flies out of her dollhouse in search of fun, in order to be freed from the dollhouse by Mr. Tuttle, who is in charge of magic.

Why I started this book:

I read this book to my 6.5 year old grand daughter. I had read this to myself before I read it to my grand daughter. It was bought for my Kindle and that is how I read it to her.

Likes:

  • There are cute illustrations which are all black and white on the Kindle. Later I used my Kindle app and put them into my iPad, thinking the illustrations would be in color -- only the cover was in color, but I'm sure if this were a physical book, not an ebook, the illustrations would be in color. I don't know if it is the app that makes it black and white or if that is how it was formatted for an ebook... or if I had bought it in the iPad store versus Kindle store it might have been in color.
  • I liked Hailey's relationship with her school mates, those she liked and those she didn't, and the reasons for each. I also liked that the friendships moved in and out of closeness and were resolved.
