Harry Potter Costume: Nymphadora Tonks

Another easy Harry Potter costume is Nymphadora Tonks, but don't tell her that. It’s easy to dress up as Nymphadora Tonks for a Harry Potter party because you don’t need much to pull it off. If you’re lucky much of this is in your costume closet anyway so you won’t have to put much money into the costume. You'll see what I mean as I go over the different aspects of Tonks costume.

Outfit:

Tonks is cool. She’s closer in age to the kids and part of the Order of the Phoenix. She’s also an Auror. That means there are a lot of different outfits you can do. The easiest is probably the punk rock star look with stripe arm warmers, a cool purple shirt, black jeans, and a vest. Or even a funky skirt over leggings and a tank would work.

Hair:

Tonks loves to change her hair color and can do so at will. Her favorite color is bubblegum pink but you can go neon green, blue, purple, etc. Wigs work really great but you can also go with hair pieces like those found at Hot Topic for a striped look. I wouldn’t suggest a clown wig, but in a pinch it would do.

Multiple Noses:

As a metamorphmagus Tonks can change not only her hair, but also her features. One of her particular crowd pleasers is going through a lot of noses. Here are some noses you can do yourself:

• Clown Nose
• Pig Snout
• Duck Bill
• Puppy Nose
• Black Cat Whiskers

Putting it All Together:

I highly suggest you bring a bunch of extras in an overlarge black bag for the party. That way at whim (by going to the bathroom, bedroom, closet, wherever there isn't a lot of people) you can change your look, just as Tonks would do.
